Brooks

Continued from Page B2 Thanks to the internet and the use of courier services, Bird has clients and consultants all across Canada including Newfoundland and Ontario. The majority of her business though is done in southeast Alberta from Brooks south to Medicine Hat and west to Taber. For Bird, selling Tupperware is more about her passion for people and helping them achieve their goals and dreams. She sells her products through education and enjoys teaching people how to organize their kitchens. That organization can create efficiencies which save time, space, money and waste. Her favourite party to host she calls “Let’s go to

Hawaii.” She teaches people how to store food properly in their fridges, saving $60 to 80 a month. She gives grocery shopping tips which can save the average family $200 to 300 a month and talks about plan-ahead lunches and meals. “Even people who are already money-savvy, I can

teach them to save between $2,000 to $3,000 per year. Most save between $8,000 to $10,000 a year. It’s about effecting a life and making a change for the better. I am passionate about this.” Bird also likes to share her personal weight loss

journey with her Tupperware clients. She had an epiphany about her weight a few years

ago.

“I knew when I was ready to do it, it would be a lifestyle change and it would be forever.” She went whitewater rafting with her grown

children, son Aaron, and daughter Sara, and while she had a good time, she was frustrated with her lack of strength and agility. Three days after that trip, she says she woke to a voice in her head saying, “You can earn a G6 (a car) through Tupperware, but you can’t lose 100 pounds.” She marked that day by announcing on Facebook her intention to lose 80 pounds within one year. When that year had passed, she was 81 pounds lighter thanks to Herbal Magic. It was the accountability of telling people her plan

which helped. “The neat thing is the motivation and inspiration it

gave to a lot of other people,” she says. People followed her journey and it took her 14 months to reach her goal of losing a total of 113 pounds. Bird likes to share her weightloss success journey with people at Tupperware parties, showing others the impossible is possible. “It’s a matter of educating yourself, finding good solid solutions and sticking with it.” She eats mainly fresh fruits and vegetables, and

Cindy Bird has won many trips through Tupperware,

including one to Ireland this past spring which she took with her son Aaron.

stays away from processed and canned goods. She eats as close to the earth as possible and has

developed a healthy love affair with food. Bird is also glad she can now enjoy the time she spends with her children. Her son works as an accountant in Calgary and her daughter is in her third year of nursing at the University of Calgary. She believes through her businesses success, she has passed on to her children they can achieve whatever they want to if they just decide to do it. She wants to share that message with as many people as possible. “My biggest goal in life is to inspire and help people to set dreams and goals for themselves. I want to inspire people to dream again. Dream big dreams. Set big goals for yourself, educate yourself about what it takes to get there, then stick to it.”

IS SERVING YOU BETTER

NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Hello, Hello,

My name is Derrick Howard. My family and I recently moved to Medicine Hat to operate Sun Country Nissan. I believe that as other automakers rise and fall in the industry, Nissan has been a consistent leader of quality, craftsmanship and performance.

One thing about Medicine Hat which I fi nd especially amazing, is the many different people who have gone out of their way to make my family and I feel welcome. For that I am grateful and say ‘Thank You’! There is an obvious genuine close knit community feel that is unique to this city. I am honoured to be part of it and plan to pay it forward. In my short time here I have learned that the people of Medi- cine Hat and Area truly appreciate someone going the extra mile for them. And you love your Nissans!

It is my promise to you to dedicate my efforts so that Sun Country Nissan is a place where you get a great small town experience and going the extra mile for customers is an everyday thing.

I look forward to the opportunity to earn and keep your business Sincerely,
