Woodbridge Remembrance Parade And Service
Each year the Woodbridge Branch of the Royal British Legion and Woodbridge Town Council jointly arrange a Remembrance Parade and Service.
This year, the service will take place on Sunday 13TH November. The parade will leave Theatre Street at 10.50 a.m. and march to the Garden of Remembrance / War Memorial for the Act of Remembrance, 2 minute silence and laying of wreaths.
Members of the public are also invit- ed to an Open Air Service on the Market Square which will follow.
Come Dine With The Birds
Families visiting RSPB Minsmere nature reserve during the
October half term can join us in making bird feed-
ers to take home, and have fun dis- covering what birds like to eat.
The activity days run from 10 am to 3 pm from Monday 24 to Friday 28 October. As well as making bird feed- ers, there will be other crafts and wildlife activities on offer, including a detective game in the woods.
RSPB Minsmere Volunteer Development Officer, Louise Gregory, said, "During autumn and winter, birds like a bit of extra help in finding food. RSPB Feed the Birds Day is on 29 October, when we ask people to help out birds with clean and well-stocked feeders. It's brilliant to watch garden birds eating from feeders the kids made themselves, like it's your very own wildlife garden party."
All activities are free, and materials are provided, but normal reserve entry fees apply: free for RSPB and Wildlife Explorer members; all other children £1.50, adults £5, families £10, and £3 for concessions.
Just42 Beer- tasting raises over £500
Christian youth work trust Just42 held its first beer- tasting event at
Deben Rowing Club on the river wall at Woodbridge over the hot weekend at the beginning of October.
Chris Mapey, landlord of the Angel Inn in the town, gave his time and expert- ise to help those attending explore a variety of beers, while local brewery Adnams provided beer, tasting glasses and draw prizes.
Just42 Ladies Pamper Evening
Just42 also organised a Ladies Pamper Evening at Woodbridge Youth Centre a week later. Thirty-eight peo- ple came along for a night of pamper- ing, puddings and a belly-dancing taster session!
Jo Quigley, a Just42 trustee, organ- ised a great night out for local ladies and the evening raised over £450. One visitor said: "The Ladies Pamper Evening was great - thank you every- one who organised it and to those who pampered us! Can we have another one next year please?"
Forthcoming events: Fundraising Dinner and Music at The Abbey, Woodbridge, Saturday 12th November, and Just42 AGM, Wednesday 23rd November, at Bredfield Village Hall. Please contact the Just42 office on 01394 380992 for more details.

Forty-five people attended and sam- pled seven types of beer, including a rare cask of Project Horatio from Woodford's brewery and Waldringfield Wallop, a home brew made by Neil Cawthorn, a member of the Rowing Club who helped organise the event.
"It was great fun and everybody seemed to make the most of the occa- sion," said Mike Simpson, a trustee of Woodbridge-based charity Just42. "We were so lucky to be able to use the Rowing Club on such a lovely evening - the River Deben looked at its very best.
"We are extremely grateful to all those who supported the event and will help us achieve our mission of having a positive impact on the lives of young people."
