Let Akron Urban League’s SES pro- gram be part of your home-school connection.

The Akron Urban League is a Supplemental Education Services (SES) provider for Akron Public and Barberton City Schools. Our funding provides a private tutoring scholar- ship for low-income students to receive extra help in mathematics outside of school. The AUL’s SES program is targeted toward students in grades 3-9. Tutor- ing is provided from 3-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at various community locations. We provide di- agnostic testing, individualized learn- ing plans, adherence to Ohio State Standards and Benchmarks, hands-on activities, and enhanced home and school communication. Our students have more than doubled their scores in targeted goals as well as increased their overall test scores by 25 percent. If you, or someone you know, is interested in giving your child a helping hand, call Cynthia Price, SES Coordinator, at 234-542-4164.
