RIGGING
Track & Barrel Systems
Small studios may well function with a simple grid work of pipes or trusses suspended from the ceiling. The diameter of the pipes is typically 1.5 inch or approx. 38 mm. This will work fine if the lighting structure of the studio stays more or less the same day-in day-out.
But for studios with low ceilings (between 4 and 6 m net height) with frequent changes, it is economical to invest in a simple but very effective mechanical solution – The Track and Barrel system.
It consists of lighting bars mounted on trolleys, which travel in a track system across the studio ceiling. (It is important to provide enough space above the tracks so that ventilation ducts, cable trays and other equipment can be fitted in.) The new Track and Barrel system has been proven to be extremely economical and flexible for use:

Track and Barrel is based on Industrial components Easy to assemble on site
The barrels are completely prewired, which means that there is: - Consistency in outlet numbering
- Full coverage of the complete studio with a minimum amount of circuits
Every outlet is permanently wired to either a dimmer or a direct outlet (Even greater flexibility can be achieved with the ADB EURODIM Twin Tech DimSwitch modules) Every data/DMX connection is permanently wired to a data patch bay
Any suspended luminaire can be “pole operated” and move in 3 directions (LEFT <-> RIGHT, FORWARD <-> BACKWARD, UP <-> DOWN (by pantograph)
