This was a day of contrasts and diversions, of mixing it with the army and Mr Plowden; a day designed to involve all the Lower Sixth and, in a small way, to develop skills and talents so far unexplored and unrealised.
The British Army team provided us with a range of command task experiences from competitive go-kart construction to pressurised mine field avoidance. Mr Bateson shared his wealth of experiences concerning the social issues likely to be encountered both in and out of school, whilst Mr Plowden demolished the notion that all words are easy. Mr Davies explored career routes and intentions and Mr Brotherton gave his uniquely practical demonstration of Spanish dancing.
