Attention Livestock Producers The 2011 Livestock Feed Program
(LFP) is now available and eligible for Native and Improved pasture, qualifying as of March 31, 2011, for both Hendry and Glades counties. This program provides financial assistance to producers who suffered grazing losses due to drought or fire, during the calendar year in which the loss occurs. Fire losses must have occurred on federally managed lands. Eligible livestock under LFP
include beef cattle, alpacas, buffalo, beefalo, dairy cattle, deer, elk, emus, equine, goats, llamas, poultry, reindeer, sheep and swine. Eligible producers are required
to have obtained a policy or plan of insurance or have NAP coverage on the grazing land or pastureland acres for which
2011 Livestock Feed Program (LFP) benefits are being requested. Eligible farmers and ranchers who meet the definition of “Socially Disadvantaged,” “Limi ted Resource,” or “Beginning Farmer or Rancher,” do not have to meet this requirement. LFP program appl icants should note that in addition to risk management provisions, certain payment limitation and adjusted gross income eligibility requirements must be met in order to qualify for livestock disaster program benefits. Producers must provide a
completed application for payment and required supporting documentat ion to thei r administrative FSA county office within 30 calendar days after the end of the calendar year in which the grazing loss occurred. For more information or to
