WEL OAK PARK & RIVER FOREST COME TO

The Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce is pleased to provide you with our current edition of the Community Guide. Our hope is for the Community Guide

to become your first choice as a reference for locating businesses and services in the Oak Park and River Forest community. We admire and extend our sincere thanks to the many advertisers represented in this book for their generous support of the Chamber. The ad- vertisers, the businesses, and the community service organizations included in our guide are committed to serve the needs of the com- munity and deserve your continued support.

Despite these challenging times, our commu- nity remains as exciting and vibrant as ever. Our community is a diverse blend of thought- ful residents, dedicated leaders, and creative business owners whom have successfully blended together to form a wonderful place to reside. New and unique businesses con- tinue to open their doors here and the Cham- ber has welcomed many new members. The businesses and organizations in the Chamber unify all of our various business districts and ensure a strong, stable, and resilient commu- nity. Our members support this community by selling their products and services, providing employment as well as their generous spon- sorships and involvement with the various lo- cal events.

The OPRF Chamber of Commerce provides its members with programs, education and opportunities to promote their businesses and services. When you join our Chamber, you join a vibrant growing group of close to 500 members which provides you with both con- ventional and social networking opportunities, new friendships, and promotional tools to as- sist you in growing your business. Here are some of the programs the Chamber of Com- merce offers its membership which will benefit your business:

• The Business After Hours (BAHs) monthly networking events, provide an opportunity for all members to meet each other in a so- cial setting to support one another by shar- ing ideas, referrals and contacts.

• Our Ambassador Program welcomes new businesses into the community by providing a Ribbon Cutting Program to generate some excitement and publicity.

• Members benefit from some free referrals provided by the Chamber of Commerce of- fice. The Chamber office receives numerous calls daily and responds to walk-ins about inquiries regarding particular businesses.

• Workshops and the popular Speed Network- ing events provide members with learning experiences to improve their business and with opportunities to present their business to others.

• Chamber members have the opportunity to promote their business on-line through Constant Contact and our extensive and growing distribution list and e-mail blasts. Also, our label purchase program and event sponsorships.

• The New Member Orientations serve to in- form about the benefits and services of the Chamber.

• Members are invited to our Annual Golf Out- ing, the Annual Meeting, and other special events during the year.

We are extremely appreciative of the Pioneer Press for securing the advertising in the Com- munity Guide.

On behalf of the Executive Director, Jim Doss, the Executive Assistant, Rita Schelstraete and the Board of Directors, I invite you to continue to keep our community strong by supporting the businesses of the Oak Park - River Forest Chamber of Commerce.

Sincerely, Kim Goldschmidt, President OPRF Chamber of Commerce
