Little Sweepers Take to the Field for Hudson Recreation Soccer
submitted by Lori Bowen The Hudson Recreation Department debuted a new program for the youngest soccer players this fall! The “Little Sweepers” is a 4-year-old program that introduces the love of soccer to these beginning players. The league consists of 44 players, and has quickly became a sought after addition to the Fall Soccer Program! There is a fabulous group of middle and high school students that have volunteered their time to coach this division. Those students are Tori LaRoche, Brittney Lambert, Jamie Sherburne, Sara Sherburne, Emily Sullivan Jocelyn Richardson, Katie Gillum, Krissy Rowe, Livia Gosselin and Kelly Robinson. A special thanks goes out to Nicole McCoy and her
family, for setting up the program each week. They have been a tremendous help! Each week the “Little Sweepers” are broken up into small groups, and are introduced to the basics of soccer through small games, and each group rotates through a course designed and overseen by soccer director Lori Bowen. The games include running with the ball, basic start to throw-ins and their favorite kicking the ball into the goal! The best part of the whole day is the last five minutes where they all get together and have a relay race! The parents have been fantastic and the Hudson Recreation Department appreciates all their support with this new program!
