| Innovations | What’s New Concept2 UniMac
» In conjunction with Concept2, Wahoo Fitness has launched the ErgBuddy, a new fitness and rowing app that literally speaks to rowers and workout enthusiasts. The Wahoo Key allows data to be transferred wirelessly from the rowing machine to the user’s iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, via the ErgBuddy app. ErgBuddy audibly delivers data—such as pace and meters rowed—from the performance monitor on the indoor rower. Users can view workouts on their Apple mobile devices, and can enhance features by wearing the Wahoo heart-rate monitor. For more information, contact the company at 877-887-8014;

UniMac's OPTidry technology
» UniMac, a provider of on-premises laundry equipment, recently intro- duced the first over-dry prevention technology. It allows clubs’ laundry managers to reduce labor, energy, and linen-replace- ment costs associated with over-drying. Over-drying occurs when tumble dryers run longer than needed because they don’t detect when linen has reached its
optimal dryness, or when staff members use incor- rect cycles. OPTidry over-dry prevention technology connects sensors located within the lifters to UniMac’s rotary transfer switch to offer a pinpoint dryness reading throughout the entire load, which allows the machine to automatically shut off upon reaching dryness. TIA's take on Industry's State
» The Tennis Industry Association (TIA) recently released its State of the Industry report, which analyzes four hierarchical segments: the economy and tennis; demand; sup- ply; and competitive tennis. “The State of the Industry takes a top-level view and weaves it into a compre- hensive story,” explains Jolyn de Boer, the executive
director of TIA. The economy section incorporates the newly developed TIA Economic Index, which values the worth of the tennis industry to the overall U.S. economy; and the supply section highlights trends from manufacturers, the retail market, and tennis facility performance data.
