How are such cancer patients treated? Well not always too well – as the approach to caring for cancer patients is fairly clinical. Yoga has been shown to improve cancer patients’ quality of life and sense of well-being. Patients can meet with an oncology regis-

Te idea at this spa is to bring a sense of control back into the lives of individuals afflicted with cancer. Tere is no doubt that this spa is truly compassionate. It was founded by two tremendously caring individuals: Dr. Amy Lang, MD and Ms Ginger Kemmy RN, BS. Te START oncologists centre funded this program. innovative treatments. Weekly and monthly education sessions are conducted via confer- ence calls by the national training directors with all the department leaders. Tese sessions are designated to communicate science news, new products and projects, promotions, and to resolve and offer the right advice for any con- cerns from the field. Tese conference calls are initiated by the national training director, but the model is for them to be interactive whereby everyone can express themselves and add value as we can always learn from each other. Te biyearly and yearly sessions are called


“Red Door Education Summit” for each depart- ment (face, body, retail, front desk). These sessions bring all the leaders together at one of the Red Door Spa resorts where they all receive four days of intensive education. At these sum- mits, the leaders are immersed in academic lectures as well as practical training. We also encourage the attendees to ask questions dur- ing these summits, challenge themselves with what they have taken for granted, and encourage them to disagree if they have a different point of view. We do this to break barriers between us and bring each person in the class closer to
