for The Gayle King Show. “The show is a perfect fit for me because it is live and takes me back to my sweet spot of working without a net,” says King. “You get to in- terview everybody you can think of, not just famous people. I love talking to people that nobody has ever heard of but are inter- esting individuals.” Calling herself a “news junkie,” King believes her love for pop cul- ture, news, food, and everything in be- tween makes the show “diverse.” And di- versity is something Gayle King believes in. She thinks that for a well-rounded per- spective, it’s important to

When she does find a few min- utes free, King enjoys spending precious time with her two grown children, Kirby and Will, grabbing at a great meal at a fine restaurant, catching a movie, hiking, hang- ing out with friends and family, or “check- ing into a great hotel and ordering room service.” King is happiest being busy and meet-
ing people who are different from her, and she’s not done yet. She says, “I feel really good about the space I’m in and what I have been able to do. I am still a work in progress…my greatest accomplishment is yet to come!”
