Where: 18 Schools in the UK and 12 schools overseas.

Who: 9,000 children worldwide.

What: My School My Voice aims to educate young people on global issues to inspire them to become a global citizen.

How: My School My Voice is an education and fundraising programme that offers schools throughout the UK assemblies, creative workshops and the opportunity to establish a global link with a school overseas. Our projects cover a wide range of themes from the Right to Education to Tanzanian folktales with the aim of fostering respect and understanding between children from different backgrounds. My School My Voice encourages our young generation to take a look at the world around them, understand their place within it and take action!

Case Study:

Earlier this year Oyster Park School in Yorkshire twinned with Benjamin William Mkapa School in Tanzania.

My School My Voice has been great for us, the children have loved learning about new cultures and speaking with our twinned school in Tanzania. At school the children have learned about life in Tanzania throughout the year. After speaking with the Head Teacher of our partner school in Tanzania, Benjamin William Mkapa, we decided to raise money to buy books for their school. We believe that books and reading unlocks the potential of our own children - and now also the potential of our extended family in Tanzania! Altogether we raised £1,900!

Ms Maggie Chipperfield, teacher at Oyster Park Primary School, Yorkshire.
