new microphone models, the XD-V30HS and XD-V70HS headset microphone systems. These augment the award-winning XD-V30 and XD-V70 handheld and lavalier systems. The XD-V70HS digital wireless system is a fully adjustable lightweight headset with an omni- directional condenser microphone while the XD-V30HS digital wireless system features a robust uni-directional condenser microphone attached to a headset. The Martin Audio DD6, an ultra-versatile


and compact, multi-angled enclosure based on Differential Dispersion horn technology, is the first in a new line of products that will eventually replace the classic Wavefront range. The DD6 extends the company’s loudspeaker portfolio and targets the touring and theatre segments. The custom-designed Differential Dispersion horn, developed using Martin Audio’s proprietary BEM tools, is the system’s greatest USP. British manufacturer MC2 Audio has


announced that its highly anticipated E100 amplifier is now shipping following its preview product at 2011’s Prolight & Sound. The compact four-channel amplifier is the flagship of the company’s highly successful E series. The official launch marks a powerful four-channel amplifier, but also the first 4-channel proprietary class-D switchmode amplifier to be developed by MC2. Midas has launched the latest additions to its


PRO Series of digital consoles, the Midas PRO2 and PRO2C live audio systems. The PRO2/PRO2C take the audio quality, performance and values of the top-end Midas XL8, and make them available at an accesible price. Also launched was the VeniceF-16R, a 16-channel rack mount variant of its new ‘digi-log’ ultra-compact mixing console, the VeniceF.

Nexo brought its 45°N-12 line monitors to


show at PLASA, plus a small selection of its best-selling high-SPL cabinets like the PS15 and GEO S12 presented in white, for a change! But the story Nexo was keen to tell was of its success in large-scale public environments, particularly sports stadia. In the last year alone, Nexo has equipped more than a dozen football stadia in Europe and North Africa. Fast-growing Cheshire-based loudspeaker


design and manufacturer OHM exhibited at PLASA 2011 showing a variety of sound systems. Several products were on display including the Ersa Major 3 way line array system complimented by the PUKK range of subs with latest addition, the PUKK - 218 boasting low frequencies of 24Hz. After extensive r&d and field testing the Ersa / PUKK line array system has finaly been released, with five systems already sold worldwide. Out Board previewed the iPad and iPhone


apps developed to control the TiMax2 SoundHub mix matrix, playback server and audio showcontrol matrix. It demonstrated the powerful new S-Version software features for the TiMax2 SoundHub and the revolutionary UWB TiMax Tracker radar system. In conjunction with software associates Data Strategy Ltd, Out Board also launched the all-new re-vamped line of PAT-4 Test Processors. QSC was pleased to feature its new KLA


Series active line array system at PLASA. Available in black and white, the KLA Series is comprised of two models, the KLA12 a 12-inch, 2-way, line array element and the KLA181 an 18-inch direct radiating subwoofer. QSC also announced the new TSC-3 controller and CCN32 CobraNet audio I/O card, both of which expand the offerings of the Q-Sys system. RCF presented an array of new products at


this year’s show, these included: the Compact Series, speakers designed to offer a very natural sound; the D Line Series, which provides high


power output and a deep bass sound; the Media Series presenting a 360° approach to the sound system design; and the TTL11A digitally steerable array and TTS26-A compact subwoofer. Heading the list on the Renkus-Heinz stand


was the unique new IC2 - the first ever high- powered, medium format digitally steerable loudspeaker system. Likewise, the new CF101- LA modular point source array flown on the stand, offered a breakthrough solution for today’s small and mid-sized venues, including auditoria, nightclubs, and theatres. Roland premiered the latest addition to the


award winning R-Series at PLASA 2011 with the launch of the R-26 six-channel portable hand held audio recorder. Heralding the next generation of hand held recorders from Roland with features such as dual stereo mics, six channels of simultaneous recording and three channel IARC - as well as impressive ergonomics - the technically advanced R-26 offers superior detail and depth. Mic specialists Sennheiser had its 2000


Series and 3000 / 5000 Series of products on show, as well as its newly developed eRack, a ready-to-go evolution wireless G3 GB system. Neumann, meanwhile, displayed a selection


of both analogue and digital microphones. The stand also boasted a range of innovative products from its distributed brands, which include APart Audio, D.A.S Audio, K-array and Rane. Shure highlighted its wireless microphone


system, Axient, which sees a dramatic new threshold of control / confidence in RF applications. Axient is the first wireless system that not only detects interference but can automatically change frequencies - undetected by the user - to avoid interference. Axient has been recognised at the ABTT Awards, and the PLASA Awards for Innovation. Brighton-based Traction Sound presented
