PANELISTS: It was MICHAEL GIACCHINO’s work in video game orchestration that grabbed the attention of JJ Abrams. They met, and a relationship was born that would include the groundbreaking series LOST, for which Michael earned an Emmy. Michael’s feature film breakthrough was with THE INCREDIBLES. After that, he went on to score box office hits such as MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III, and STAR TREK. Last year his score for Pixar’s UP earned him an Oscar.
Producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist WOODROW WILSON JACKSON III was a member of the band that became LIVE while still in high school, and soon after began playing with the indie favorites THE USELESS PLAYBOYS. After touring with Vincent Gallo, he began working with David Holmes, playing on the OCEANS 12 soundtrack. His other work includes films such as FAST FOOD NATION and YOUTH IN REVOLT. Jackson has also worked with artists such as Badly Drawn Boy, Tenacious D, and Beck.
In the tradition of producers DJ Premier, and Kanye West, 9TH WONDER (PATRICK DOUTHIT) has built a bridge that spans the underground and commercial hip-hop world. With production credits that range from Jay-Z to Jean Grae, 9TH WONDER has become the next producer at the top of every artist’s “must have” list. In 1998 he formed the band LITTLE BROTHER and their first album was released in 2003. In 2007 9TH WONDER left the band, and has spent his time since producing tracks and teaching at NCCU.
STEPHANIE DIAZ-MATOS’ ability to the cross boundaries of music, film, television, and advertising, and her uncanny ear for bridging undiscovered gems with mainstream hits puts her at the heart of Search Party’s creative nucleus. Most recently, Diaz-Matos completed work on HBO’s remake of GREY GARDENS, starring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. In her “free time,” Diaz-Matos runs indie dance music label, God Within Recordings.
A passion for film, a proven track record in the world of advertising, and over a decade spent as a prominent DJ on the international dance music scene make SARA MATARAZZO a standout member of Search Party Music. Matarazzo now heads up Search Party’s new west coast office. Her recent feature projects include surf movie THE PRESENT and Wes Anderson’s THE FANTASTIC MR FOX.
