DESCRIPTION: This stimulating two year, full-time course is designed to provide the learner with the full range of competencies to meet the requirements of employers recruiting accounting and financial administration staff. It incorporates traditional accounting skills with information technology and computer training.


CONTENT: Financial Accounting | Management Accounting | Cost Accounting | Financial Accounting Software | Income Tax | Information Technology | Financial Reporting | Business Taxation. Other subjects may include: Auditing | Income Tax | Law for Business | Economics | Statistics | Mathematics | Information Technology | Payroll.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: At least 1 Higher Grade pass with 3 other passes at Standard Grade or equivalent or successful completion of an appropriate National Qualification course. Applications from mature learners with several years of work experience will be welcomed. Entry by interview.


QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION: Successful completion of the course will allow learners to gain admission to second or third year of a relevant university degree course. The HND Accounting prepares candidates for employment in roles such as accounts technician, assistant accountant and accounts supervisor.

NORTH GLASGOW COLLEGE COURSE PROSPECTUS


Introduction to Administration SCQF Level 4–6


DESCRIPTION: This full-time fast track course starts in January and is completed by June, and may be studied part-time by negotiation. It is designed as a “taster” to the administration courses.


CONTENT: Word Processing | Administration | Reception | Information Technology.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal qualifications required.


QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION: A group of SQA NQ Units. A pass in each unit ensures an unconditional place on the NQ Administration course and may allow entry to HNC/D programmes. Employment prospects may be in administration, reception or business.
