Access Primary or Secondary Teaching

Access Humanities SCQF Level 6


DESCRIPTION: This is a one year full-time course which will allow successful learners to continue to a range of degree courses or Higher National awards.


CONTENT: Communication 4 and Literature 1 | Numeracy | Psychology | Sociology | Research Skills | Media Studies | IT and units in preparation for Higher Education.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants should be adults, with few or no qualifications, looking for a return to education. Selection is made via application form and interview.


QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION: On successful completion of the programme, applicants can progress to Higher Education.

DESCRIPTION: A number of the Access programmes can lead to Primary or Secondary teaching, including Business, IT, Mathematics, Science, English, Technological Studies, Craft & Design and Social Sciences to name a few.

FAST-TRACK (Higher English Equivalent)


Communication 4 + Literature 1 flexible programmes are designed to meet the English requirements for admission to teacher training and are suitable for university access courses, university under-graduates and graduates.


This normally takes 120 hours but this unique fast-track programme takes you through the course in just 36 hours.
