The St. Mary’s Middle School program provides a transition from a homeroom-based elementary experience to a department-based Upper School in a supportive and challenging environment. The program at each grade level features a lively, engaging curriculum that stresses critical thinking and skill development. Kids are well-known in the Middle School, and everyone has the opportunity to participate actively in the daily life of our community.

Middle School students study the Humanities thematically, with cross-curricular opportunities at each level. Sixth graders explore ancient world history from the birth of civilizations through the fall of Rome. Seventh graders study the West and the world from the Middle Ages through the Age of Exploration. Eighth graders focus on American history and its political, economic, social, and cultural development.
