pen 4 Business’ supports the growth and development of successful businesses in Mid Sussex. The event is run by Mid Sussex District Council, in association with Burgess Hill Business Parks Association, East Grinstead Business Association, Haywards Heath and District Business Association and the Federation of Small Businesses, acting

as a platform for local businessmen and women to share information and develop contacts. At Open 4 Business 2011, relaxed and informal networking sessions will allow attendees to share experiences and promote their particular business to other local companies. Business representatives will have the chance to discover new opportunities within Mid Sussex and meet other people running businesses in the District. There will also be a wide range of information available on starting-up, growing and developing all types of business, including small, home-based businesses. The Federation of Small Businesses and the Local Business Associations will also be on hand to share information about the services they can offer to local companies. Open 4 Business 2011 provides a superb opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves. Trade stands are available to Mid Sussex

based companies that are looking to take advantage of the business to business sales opportunities. It costs just £30 plus VAT to secure a stand for the evening but places are limited and businesses are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.

Open 4 Business is held at the start of November to mark the lead up to Global Entrepreneurship Week, where events all over the world showcase and celebrate the work of those who pursue their ideas and create jobs through business enterprises. “Mid Sussex has a strong, if shy, local economy,” says Councillor John de Mierre, Cabinet Member for Economic Development. “We have some excellent businesses here while it is a great place to start a business. Mid Sussex District Council is keen to support the local economy through these diffi cult economic times and works hard to create a favourable environment for them.”

“All businesses in Mid Sussex are invited to join us – to network, to speak to business support organisations and to talk to the people behind important Mid Sussex regeneration projects such as the proposal coming forward for the Haywards Heath Station Quarter. Businesses can also take trade stands to present themselves to other businesses in the area.”
