On May 8th we had a great and a fun filled Spring event called the Spring Fest. The day started off with an Easter egg hunt for the little kids. All the kids decorated their own eggs and brought it for the display. Then we split up into 6 groups and we had lots of games. The games started off with the Scavenger hunt, followed by a scooter race, solving a Sudoku and digging out the chocolate bars from the sand. Following a sumptuous lunch, we had more couple games and it was heartening to see adults form all age group participate sportingly. Weather cooperated with us so everyone was happy to enjoy the fun out doors after the bad

winter. About 50 adults and 25 kids participated and made it a successful event. Thanks to all the organizers Sudha and Sundar for putting in all the effort, ably assisted by their Narayanan and Minu.

On June 5th about 30 of us volunteered at the DC Central kitchen. This is the 4th year that Nagarathars from the DC Region volunteered here. We went and helped them cook for 4500 homeless people. Thanks to all those who came forward to give donations. We collected about $1200 this year. We made Rajma, Salad and brown rice, which was then taken in vans and distributed in shelters.
