Unforgettable NSNA Retreat 2011

Retreat preparation started as early as January 2011 by encouraging the area nagarathars to signup (for the retreat) sooner and by planning the sari and blouse exclusively for the event. Thanks to the mothers of Thenu Raajan and Nachaa Ravi who have custom-designed the retreat sari and mothers of Sujatha Saravanan and Priya Mark for bringing them them on time for the event.

Sujatha and Saravanan volunteered to become the retreat coordinators and did an awesome job from start to finish including audio and video communication with the national retreat team. Various programs were individually choreographed and coordinated by our able members Deivanai, Chocku, Valli Selvam, Jaya, Odi, Sujatha, Saravanan, Raajan, and Thenu.

The first Boston program by Kalakkal Mainakkal was truly a kalakkal. They raised the bar and set high expectations for the other performances by Boston.

Acapella – all kids in white & blue

with their ―composer‖ Rajan – awesome sight and wonderful listening to the kids singing Thevaram and Thiruppugazh.

Solai saying the kattiyam loud and clear stunned the auditorium into silence and people were eager to watch the Kavadi take-off despite a technical glitch. Everyone did a great job that made the glitch go unnoticed.

Eight Boston guys participated and

participants. The entire audience were simply spell bound by the show which was evident from the fact that many waited for the show to be over before dispersing for lunch. On the spot comedy on stage was when Deivanai said, ―seeviduven‖ and for which Subbu said ―seeppa kudunga‖,

Oruthuva Thandavam by two dance gurus Suja & Thenu – Siva & Parvati – was truly a treat to our eyes. The back-to-back

did a marvelous job in the ―Vaanga Pesalaam Vaanga‖ talk show on the topic, ―Why wives are the most difficult to understand‖. Karumbu thinna kooliya vendum?

Kutties performance, Robot Express, touched everyone's heart. Performances of kitties, Enthiran and Aishwarya were really very cute!

Saravanan did the story, screenplay, direction for the Lootiku Looti with some help from the

schedule of their dance and the kids‘ dance Konjam Nilavu, Konjam Neruppu, acted like a one-two punch in showcasing of Boston‘s talent.

Maanada Maambo Mayilada was a fitting finale for the Boston programs.

Couple‘s dance –

synchronization and the guys leaping over forward without hurting their spouses‘ head was simply superb. (If they hurt their spouse‘s head then no food until the next retreat so they must have been careful).
