ONSHORE WIND FARMS With land based wind farms, they are involved at all stages of a project, from the drafting and negotiation of documentation to securing land interests and easements, by option, agreement or lease, to the drafting and negotiation of documents for the construction and commissioning of the wind turbines and infrastructure and the export of the power generated. They also advise on agricultural issues, for example agri-environmental schemes, agricultural tenancies, crop loss and mines and minerals.


OFFSHORE WIND FARMS They deal with the environmental and ecological impact of wind farms, including offshore wind turbines, and on all related planning issues.


For offshore wind farms and offshore projects, they deal with marine consents and their interaction with other marine users. They advise in relation to marine spatial, planning, ports and harbour regulation (including rights of navigation) and advise a number of offshore support vessel operators as well as ports and infrastructure related design and construction.


SUCCESSES Their recent successes in this area include acting for a party to a marine planning related judicial review and negotiating compensation packages for loss of fishing rights on behalf of a number of marine developers. They also advise on all aspects of offshore construction and engineering.


Previous offshore projects where they have acted upon include coastal defence work, gas pipelines, and gas storage caverns.


COMMERCIAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT


They have always been involved in commercial and technological development, and that has included waste to energy, biomass, anaerobic digestion, wave and tidal energy and bio diesel projects. They have acted on behalf of port operators in connection with the grant of options for the development of two regionally significant waste to energy facilities and in the construction and commissioning of waste to energy plants. In the energy sector, they have also been involved in advising on oil and gas exploration and production, flue gas desulphurisation facilities, coal and nuclear power generation and related construction.
