power brow
From razor sharp lines and rainbow coloured, to werewolf style bushes, eyebrows were the centre-point in make-up for Winter 2010.
We’ve had the razor thin and the bleached and now it’s time for the statement, quirky, decorative brow.
Initial focus is so often held towards eyes and lips with eyebrows taking a backseat, often added in as a quick afterthought. This season things are changing and the framing qualities of the eyebrow are being appreciated. It’s time for the power brow to be unleashed.
Surreal eyebrows were central to so many
key make up looks this season. It was all or nothing, big and bushy in
natural hues, or neat and def ined in rainbow shades.
Perhaps as an extension to the pastel
hair colour trend, Balenciaga took candy colours to the brows. Using a palette of pale blue and greens Pat McGrath, kept the complexion cool with nude lips and eyes. With a clear, natural background behind them the fluffy candyfloss hued eyebrows stood out. By using such girly, soft tones McGrath casted an image that was both striking and delicate.
