give it a whirl Fresh Wave Odor Eliminating Crystals

Living with three cats and two dogs means odor control in my house is a top priority. I keep the litter boxes in the basement, but unfortunately the “cat cave” is adjacent to the “man cave.” If I neglect to empty the cat boxes every day, I get an earful from my husband. I’ve tried scented candles, but can’t keep them going 24-7 for obvious reasons. So I was very interested to hear on the radio about a gel-based

product

that could stand up to tough odors.

The Product: Fresh Wave Odor Eliminating Crystals. This is part of a line of odor control products from Fresh Wave, which also includes candles, air sprays, carpet

dumps and wastewater settings. The product costs $14.99 for 16 oz. where bath and beauty products are sold. Also available in 8 oz. www.fresh-wave. com.

The Promise: The company claims “nothing works better to remove persistent odors in the air than Fresh Wave” crystal product contain

fresheners and others.

Non-toxic and environmentally friendly, the company says the same technology is used in garbage

The Test: I actually got two jars (16 oz. and 8 oz.) for the price of one through a special offer, and decided to start with the large jar in the main area, next door from the kitty room. After a few weeks, I moved the

second jar closer to the source of the odors – the litter boxes.

The Results: It’s now been 30 days of consistently

gel. The not or

using the Fresh Wave jars, and I think it’s come up against the unstoppable odor. Could it be my three kitties are stinkier than a garbage dump? (Don’t ask my husband!) I can sense it’s working in the main room, but there’s little difference in the kitties’ room where eau du litter box is still alive and well. In the main room, I do like the clean scent, free of vanilla or pine, or other scents commonly used in candles. But I don’t think I would spend $15 every three months to renew it. In fairness, the company suggests using the spray product for litter boxes, along with the crystal gel. I think I’ll just double up my cleaning efforts, and use a super high-end litter. The Rating:
