hunter in a tree stand without a safety har- ness that falls over 25’ to the ground when he loses his balance. Then paramedics are sum- moned to the scene by a fellow hunter, how- ever once on scene the paramedics realize Air Evac Lifeteam is needed due to the rural setting and the patient’s injuries. As patient care is being initiated, game wardens and fellow hunters look on; Air Evac 64 flies in to assist with patient care and flight to a level one trauma center. The PSA shows the patient being loaded and aircraft taking off, followed by a short closing on the importance of wearing a safety harness.
“All states are reporting more tree stand accidents than fire arm accidents,” TMA executive director John Louk stated. This shows the importance of a pro-active attitude by Air Evac Lifeteam, TMA, and the State of Alabama. “If you enjoy your family and the outdoors, take the time to wear a safety harness so that you can continue to enjoy your hobby and family,” Jennifer said. u
