Client Case Study – Newsletter ReVamp

I worked with a client who has a large amount of blog/article content on her site. As part of a strategy discussion about increas- ing traffic to her site, I suggested that she begin including a few article teasers with a link back to the full article in her newsletters to help her meet her traffic goals. I proposed that if revamped her newsletter and included more article content, that she would see a major increase in traffic.

As with any new strategy and goal, it was important for us to be able to measure and compare the number of visitors and their site usage patterns both before and after the strategy was imple- mented to be sure that it was ef- fective. Using Google Analytics, we were able to set a series of baseline statistics about the site’s visitors before this strategy was implemented and use those fig- ures to compare against the same information after implementing it.
What we saw was a drastic spike in visitors each week on the day she sent her newsletter and for several days after. Overall, we could see that the traffic to her site had more than doubled and

the time spent on her site as well as pages viewed drastically increased as well.
With this simple and FREE tool my client was able to make the decision to invest more time and resources into her newsletter because she could immediately see the value this new strategy had for her business.
This is just one way that I have helped clients to use the informa- tion we’ve garnered from their website statistics to enhance their business.
