The Enlightened Mom By Terri Amos-Britt

In the

Darkness are Many Possibilities

“In the darkness are many pos- sibilities.” I’ve had to say that to myself too many times to count over the years during times of transition. However, when it held the most truth was when my hubby Steve died unexpectedly. My greatest fear was for my kids. I had no idea how their daddy’s death might affect them. I knew there were MANY possibilities, some I didn’t want to imagine. I also knew that it was up to me to set an example, showing them they did indeed have a choice and that they could walk through this crisis with grace and healing.

“About 30 minutes ago. He said he was on his way, but he’s still not here. I’ve called and called but he’s not picking up.” Mackenzie explained. “Will you see if you can reach him?”

I figured Mackenzie was simply being impatient, as so many teenagers tend to be, but said I
