Both of these pieces are imaginative portraits. They come from a vision or an idea I have of an individual. "Envision Freedom" is an imaginary portrait of a character named "Kaede" in "The Tales of the Otori" book series. Her bravery and fierceness inspired me to draw her as I saw her in my mind.

"Dorothy" is a tribute to Dorothy Parker. Her sense of humor reminds me that life is an amuse- ment park meant to be enjoyed and savored. When I think of her, I am reminded to not take my- self too seriously.
