CHEEBRAVO

The "Accordian player in NYC subway" is the latest small painting in my Musicians'series. From time to time I am compelled to paint musicans in hopes of capturing their vibe while they play in the dark, lonely corners of nightclubs, in the dingy recesses of the city, on the streets, in front of adoring fans or in the house of Worship. When their sounds fill the air, I take note, take photos and savor the moment. When working on these small paintings my printmaking approach to making imagery comes through naturally. This series is one of three series which are studies on color, texture and form or lack thereof. They serve as exercises, a break from my theme pieces or projects which normally take awhile to complete conceptually.
