There would be a series of sprints that would include a “User Review." For each User Review they are asking participating clients to come into their office for a hands-on demonstration with access to a test environment to explore the software. This is to ensure the developed software will provide the best experience for the development community.

Keep Urging Congress! Build Support for AD&C

Legislation and the Mortgage Interest Deduction

The National Association of Home Builders

(NAHB) and the GHBA are urging every member of the association to contact their members of Congress to help build support for the Home Construction Lending Regulatory Improvement Act of 2011 (H.R. 1755), which represents a significant advancement in efforts to solve the AD&C lending crisis.

The legislation, introduced by Reps. Gary Miller (R-Calif.) and Brad Miller (D-N.C.), would direct federal and state banking regulators to take specific steps that would restore liquidity, ensure that financial institutions providing financing to America's home builders are permitted to make loans, and provide stable financing to the residential building sector.

The legislation was introduced with 31 original co-sponsors and now has 60. The legislation is co-sponsored by those in our Houston Congressional Delegation including: Congressman Al Green, Congressman John Culberson,

GREATER HOUSTON BUILDERS ASSOCIATION – BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE | HOUSTON BUILDER | OCTOBER 2011 9

Congressman Gene Green, Congressman Pete Olson, and Congressman Ted Poe.

Congress returns this month and it is imperative for this legislation to be on the minds and the hearts of legislators. NAHB members can contact their representatives in their local districts and ask them to co-sponsor the legislation.

Representatives should also be asked to co-sponsor H.R. 25, which expresses the sense of Congress that the mortgage interest deduction should not be altered in any way.

This resolution was also introduced by Rep. Gary Miller, which had more than 170 co-sponsors.

Please visit our website for additional materials at: www.ghba.org/political- advocacy/government-affairsissues.html.

Association members are also encouraged to contact their U.S. Senators and ask

them to introduce and co-sponsor the Senate companion bill.
