Here at Northampton College, we aim to take good care of all our students. So, whatever your needs, whether personal, financial or academic, you’ll find a huge range of resources to help and guide you throughout your time at the College.
College Counsellors
A free and confidential counselling service is available to all our students. Counselling gives you the opportunity to discuss anything you may be concerned about, and helps you to deal with your situation by making your own choices.
Student Welfare
Our Student Support Team can give you information and advice on any issues relating to student welfare including entitlement to benefits, housing issues and much more.
Student Mentors
Student mentors can offer you extra help and support on any issues that may be causing you difficulty or interfering with your studies. You’ll find mentors in the Student Support Centres at Booth Lane, Daventry and Lower Mounts.
Equality and Diversity
We are committed to a policy of inclusiveness and diversity. As part of our Public Sector Duty we aim to promote an environment of equality, and make a commitment that nobody will be treated less favourably than others on grounds of race, gender, belief, sexual orientation, age, disability or learning difficulty.
If at any stage you feel you are being discriminated against or harassed, use the College ‘Tell us How we are Doing’ procedures to raise the issue. This procedure can be initiated through your tutor, Curriculum Manager or through Student Support.
Childcare
Full and part-time childcare is available at Northampton, Daventry and Lower Mounts at very reasonable cost for children up to school age. Our fees are very competitive and help may be available to single parents from the College through the Student Hardship Fund or from Jobcentre Plus (tel: 0845 604 3719). Parents under the age of 20 may also be entitled to support with childcare costs through the Care to Learn scheme.
Childcare at Northampton
Northampton College Day Nursery at Booth Lane offers full day care and operates during term time and is open from 8.45am-5.15pm (4.15pm Friday).

Childcare at Daventry
This is provided through ‘Tertiary Tots’, a full day care nursery open from 8.45am-5pm (4.30pm on Fridays) during term time and an after school club open from 3pm-5.30pm during term time. Holiday play schemes for 4 – 11 year olds operate in all holidays except the Christmas break and are open from 8.30am-5.30pm.
