BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business N

I was totally

amazed with my grades. I never in a million years thought that was ever possible but I’ve achieved it and I am so pleased

How long? One year

What do I need? You will need either:

Four GCSEs at Grade C or above including English Language, or

BTEC First Diploma (preferably in Business) at least Merit level or higher, plus English GCSE at Grade C or above or Level 2 equivalent.

What will I study?

Alice George BTEC National Diploma in Business

Alice loved everything about the BTEC National Diploma in Business – even the areas that were more of a challenge!

“I knew I wanted to study business when I left school but I was surprised at just how well I picked it up and how much I enjoyed it. The course is varied so we got to cover lots in the two years. My favourite subjects were marketing and advertising but I also loved event management. One of our assignments required us to plan and organise a charity event which we decided to theme around the Royal Wedding. We had to liaise with sponsors, make arrangements with the venue, design promotional material and manage budgets. It was a hugely complex project and covered all elements of business. There’s no way I would have got experience like that at school. It really was one of the highlights of the course.

“Things like cash flow and sales forecasting are not my strong areas so I thought I’d struggle with these subjects but the teachers are really helpful and approachable so I even ended up enjoying the more challenging lessons.”

Alice completed the course with a Distinction and two Merits – the equivalent to an A and two Bs at A Level. She is currently training to be a mortgage advisor but hopes to eventually get into wedding event management.

“I was totally amazed with my grades. I never in a million years thought that was ever possible but I’ve achieved it and I am so pleased.”
