The business qualifications will provide you with a real understanding of the world of business, and prepare you for progression to higher education and careers in management and business.
The more specialised courses in Accounting and Legal Studies are equally suitable for young people and adult students, and are right for you if you’ve already decided that you wish to enter these professions.
• If you want to study all aspects of business studies before deciding on a specialist career pathway then the BTEC Business qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3 are for you. You will start your studies at the level that is best for you and then progress through the levels and from Level 3 on to university or employment.
• If you’ve already decided on a career in Accounting or Law the AAT and ILEX courses respectively provide the first steps towards professional qualifications in these areas. It is also possible to progress with AAT and ILEX qualifications studied at the College to Accounting and Law degrees respectively, at The University of Northampton.
• If you’re over 19 at the start of the course, you can also study for Access to Higher Education.
We’ll give real support all the way by providing:

What do I need?
Four GCSEs at Grade E or above and an interest in Business.
What will I study? This is a lively and fun course designed to help you develop skills in the fields of Business and Administration as well as improving your literacy and numeracy. You’ll learn practical skills that are needed to work in an office environment and gain a realistic idea about career possibilities in Business and Administration. Dedicated tutorial support will encourage you to develop relevant life and work skills, and build your confidence in your abilities and talents.
You will also study for qualifications in Functional Skills and Personal & Social Development.
What can I do next?
If you pass all the elements of assessment and gain Level 1 Functional English and Maths or GCSE Grade D in English Language and Maths you can progress to most vocational subjects at Level 2, which includes BTEC First Diploma in Business.
