What will I study?


The qualification includes practical and theoretical study of various Media Production components. Portfolio and externally-assessed units cover a range of media studies, including:


• Understanding media • Research • Media industries • Production techniques • Moving image • Print • Web design • Digital imaging and sound.


The development of Functional Skills is also included.


What can I do next? Progression to HND or media-based degree courses or employment in local media organisations such as newspaper, magazine or publishing businesses.

BTEC First Diploma in Media with overall Merit grade plus GCSE English at Grade C or above.


What will I study?


The qualification includes practical and theoretical study of various interactive media components. Portfolio and externally-assessed units cover a range of interactive media studies, including:


• Understanding media • Professional practice • Professional brief • Managing productions • Website design • Digital imaging and graphics • Video and sound in multimedia • DVD authoring • 3D environments • Modelling and animation.


The development of Functional Skills is also included.


What can I do next? Progression could include the HND Interactive Digital Media or degree courses or employment in a junior position in an interactive media organisation.
