Waitakeres: Foothills to Seashore

Bernadette Fastnedge grew up on the Hibiscus Coast then moved to the Waitakeres 25 years ago. She studied digital film, which included a paper in

digital photography, and it was after completing this paper that her love of photography grew. Bernadette is to complete a diploma in digital photography in October this year and as part of that, she will be holding an exhibition of her work. The theme she has chosen is “Waitakeres, from foothills to seashore”. Bernadette wanted to share the beauty and diversity of the Waitakere Ranges and chose to shoot photographs in some of her favourite areas. She not only shot all the images but also printed each

image herself, which she confesses was a huge learning curve. She hopes that her photographs will inspire people to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the Waitakeres. The exhibition will be held on October 15 and

16 at Corban Estate Arts Centre, 426 Great North Road, Henderson in The Meeting Room.

The photos on this page are just a few of the images Bernadette has captured.
