PERMANENT DISPLAYS

Client: East Lothian Council

Project: Musselburgh Museum

Location: High Street, Musselburgh

Description: We worked with Musselburgh Museums Heritage Group and East Lothian Council Museum Service to design a museum within a refurbished shop unit on the High Street. As the museum had not existed before there were few objects in the collection but a wealth of interesting stories and photographs.

We used a timeline to highlight the people and events that influenced the history of Musselburgh.

We designed and built the reception desk and the drawer units containing small showcases. We sourced and specified the freestanding cases.

We designed and supplied the audio visual systems.

There were planning restrictions on the signage so we created window vinyls that allow passers by to see into the museum, but from the inside you see a graphic image which changes with the light.

Date: Opened April 2011
