Firefighter Tom Sullivan Recognized by Hudson Selectmen for 20 Years of Service


At Tuesday night’s meeting, the Board of Selectmen presented Firefighter/Paramedic Tom Sullivan of the Hudson Fire Department with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his 20 years of dedicated public service. Firefighter Tom Sullivan


was hired as a Call Firefighter on October 3, 1989, and was subsequently hired full time on October 2, 1991. During his 20 plus years of service to the town of Hudson, Firefighter Sullivan has obtained certification as an EMT-Paramedic, Level III Firefighter, Fire Officer I and II, Hazmat Operations Technician, and Fire Instructor. Firefighter Sullivan has also received training in Incident Command and the National Incident Management System. Tom lives in Hudson with his wife, Giovanni, and has a son, Caleb, with whom he enjoys spending time on outdoor activities and at his

cabin up north. The town of Hudson appreciates the service and dedication that Tom has provided the town over these past 22 years. The town would like to congratulate Tom on reaching this milestone in his career and wish him the best in his future years.


New Southbound Off-Ramp to Open on I-93 at Exit 3 in Windham

Transportation announces the opening of the new southbound off-ramp on Interstate 93 at Exit 3 in Windham. The new off-ramp alignment improves safety and reduces congestion by allowing exiting vehicles to slow down in advance of the ramp, outside of the flow of mainline traffic, and eliminates the existing tight radius loop ramp at the bottom of a steep downgrade that challenged drivers during winter driving conditions. The new exit ramp will be opened during the night on Friday, September 30. The exit will be just south of the weigh station and north of the old exit. New signs and traffic lanes will guide vehicles through the area. A new traffic signal on


NH Route 111 will help motorists turning onto and off of the ramps. The old off-ramp will be closed once the new ramp is opened. Other associated project work will continue during the nights through Friday, October 7. The work will involve milling portions of the existing highway and repaving those areas, and paving other areas of the project. Temporary lane closures will be required on I-93 southbound from the southbound weigh station to the Exit 3 off-ramp and south of the Exit 3 on-ramp. Lane closure will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. This work is in preparation for a southbound mainline traffic shift onto the newly constructed bridges and roadway targeted for mid-November.


Ed Lenzi of Lenzi Construction and Remodeling, LLC, recently spearheaded a project sponsored by the


North American Deck and Railing Association’s (NADRA) Deck for a Soldier© Program. NADRA began its Deck For A Soldier program in 2007, a community effort that expresses appreciation for the service and dedication of the men and women of the armed forces. Lenzi, along with the assistance many volunteers, built a very low maintenance 380 square foot deck constructed of composite Fiberon decking and Trex railing with Azek trim. BB&S distribution donated the lumber and Friend Lumber helped with the cement other miscellaneous items that were needed to complete the project.
