Windham Cross Country Races at 37th Manchester Invite


by Chris White During Windham High’s homecoming activities last Saturday, the Windham Jaguar cross country teams participated in the 37th Manchester Invitational at Derryfield Park in Manchester. The invitational is one of the largest and most competitive races of the season, as well as one of the most prestigious cross country events in the northeast. The Windham girls placed 13th

They were led by their top five of Emma Boyd (10th overall, 21:01), Meghan O’Connor (74th overall, 24:10), Lindsay Maffei (78th overall, 24:17), Mary Garside (95th overall, 24:49), and Alexis Clemons (149th overall, 27:52). Angela Bleeker (152nd overall, 28:04) also ran as Windham’s sixth runner in the competition. The Windham boys earned


21st overall in the small school division. The Jaguars’ top five included Colby Putnam (51st overall, 18:21), Brandon Bielinski (92nd overall, 19:23), Kyle


Colby Putnam was the top performer for the Windham boys at the Manchester Invite, with a time of 18:21 for 51st overall in the small school race


Carbonneau (136th overall, 20:32), Dan Rubery (154th overall, 20:56), and David McInnis (163rd overall, 21:14). Garrett McNeil (181st overall, 21:58) and Travis Sanders (210th overall, 24:03) also represented Windham in the small school race.

The Windham cross country teams will travel north to Coe-Brown Academy in Northwood this upcoming weekend. They will participate in the Black Bear Invitational on Saturday.
