Welcome to the publishing
industry’s training partner.
We hope you find what you are looking for here. If you don’t, then do please call us anyway as we may still be able to help.
The Publishing Training Centre The Publishing Training Centre is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing learning and training for publishers and other related industries. We have been training publishing staff for more than 30 years and have represented the interests of the publishing industry on various industry bodies, including Skillset. We are now in an era defined by unprecedented digital challenges, and PTC is not afraid to lead the way, encouraging the acquisition of new skills through our growing range of digital training programmes.
Our tutors and staff
All our tutors currently work in roles directly related to the subject areas they teach, either in full-time positions or as freelances. This means that they are very experienced, and also up-to-date with the latest developments and issues in the industry. They bring this unique knowledge and experience to the courses they teach. We purposely keep course sizes small to ensure that every delegate gets personal attention from the tutor and gets the most out of their learning.
The tutors are backed-up by dedicated and knowledgeable office staff who keep delegates’ needs at the forefront of their thinking. We have also been told that we serve a great lunch!
Course categories and Plan your career We have arranged our courses in categories to make searching the catalogue easier. At the start of every category, there is a diagram of courses from that category and relevant courses from other categories. This is intended to help you identify the courses that will be most relevant to your current position and career development and to help employers identify training gaps. The courses can be attended in any order and don’t all have to be included in your plan.
In-Company training -Company training
Most of our courses can be adapted to In-Company programmes and we can combine courses, or even create an individual training programme for your organisation. Contact us for details.
