I found that my Southwestern education had prepared me better than most of my colleagues (from other schools). I was therefore able to accelerate in my career more quickly and be considered for important, high impact cases. – Daniel Petrocelli ’80, Partner, O’Melveny & Myers

Like Southwestern, the law firm I work for has its roots in Los

Angeles, and it’s an exciting place to be. I was fortunate to end up here through hard work, strong cocurricular activities like Law Review, Moot Court and the Public Interest Law Committee, and the wonderful support of my fellow alumnus and now-colleague, Robert Philibosian ‘67.

– Alison N. Kleaver ’07, Associate, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP

SCALE made me a creative lawyer. Because of the way I was taught, I am able to find things that others may not readily see. I’m a real cheerleader for Southwestern because as a student, I saw a way of teaching that truly made a difference in the way I practice law.

– Hon. Barry C. Groveman ’77, Partner, Musick, Peeler & Garrett and Mayor of Calabasas, CA

I pursued law school in part to empower myself with the tools to serve underserved communities from a position of higher

strength. My experiences in law school and in work have given me the ability to think critically, advocate, problem solve,

communicate effectively and live my life’s passion of being a public servant.

– Ugochi L. Anaebere ’04, Supervising Attorney, Voluntary Legal Services Program, Central California Legal Services, Inc.
