Endless Performance Opportunities


The breadth and number of performance opportunities at the Jacobs School of Music are unparalleled in collegiate music study—offering more than 1,100 performances a year, including 6 fully staged operas and 3 ballets. Performing ensembles include 6 orchestras, 13 choirs, 4 bands, 4 jazz bands, and a variety of chamber ensembles. The IU Summer Music series has been the most substantial collegiate project of its kind in the nation for almost 20 years. In addition, there are 15 local and regional orchestras and ensembles in which current Jacobs School students perform and are employed.
