hen the judges came up with this award, they had in mind a captain who encapsulated a number of qualities. These qualities included an effortless ability to socialise with passengers, witty banter, charm


and – let‘s not be shy here – a certain way with the ladies. Young Havard certainly encapsulates those qualities and was our clear winner. Havard, 39, became NCL’s youngest ever captain in 2007 at 35-years old, on Norwegian Dream. Most recently he captained Norwegian Jade, and now is involved in the line’s new-build projects.Havard told us: “I’m delighted to be recognised by our guests; and to be a part of a company like Norwegian Cruise Line that is constantly bringing new and exciting innovations to the cruise industry.”
