DICK’S PRESENTS MILITARY
With Over $1.1 Million During the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run, Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) helped the PGA TOUR prove that “Together, anything’s possible.” At a special ceremony on July 6, Dick’s Sporting Goods presented
Birdies for the Brave with a check for more than $1.1 million, earmarked for nine military homefront groups that are supported by TOUR players. The funds were raised through a campaign conducted at more than 440 Dick’s Sporting Goods stores from Memorial Day through the Fourth of July, in which customers were asked to make a donation to Birdies for the Brave at the cash register. Also during the presentation, MWSF Founder General Leroy
Sisco made a surprise presentation of a 100 percent mortgage- free home sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods to Illinois native and Purple Heart recipient Sgt. Dennis (Alex) Pracht, a single father and 10-year veteran of the Illinois National Guard who was seriously injured by an IED during his tour of duty in Afghanistan in June 2009.
