Spring 2011
The shark tooth From a shark
Washed up on the shores Of an ocean On the beach In Florida
It reminds me of a shark
In a battle against another shark Going on and on non-stop The shark tooth is black And a little chipped with broken off pieces
Ryan VanDemortel Grade 6
An old dead tree Sprawled out on the ground
Leaning over a dried up creek A green chair
Hidden by a thick bush An old TV
Never to turn on again The sun peeking
Through the branches The soft
Afternoon glow
That warms my face The distant car, Driving by The gentle Rustling
Of the leaves The sweet tune
Of the birds singing
And the quiet groaning Of the dead tree
Am I truly alone here?
