Obama: change for good? André Van Mol outlines his concerns

T

he election of Barack Obama gives the United States (US) its first African-American president and the developed world its first

black head of state. For the media and much of the public, it has been an undiluted celebration. His campaign slogan was ‘hope and change’; but how will his new policies actually impact medical ethics, research priorities, health care provision, and international aid? What differences from the Bush administration can we expect?
