STAFF NEWS Goodbye Rosie


At the end of March we say farewell to Rosie Paver who has lead the NMC Physio department for the past four years. Rosie has kindly offered to share with us what working at The NMC has meant to her and her plans for retirement.


Although I have to say, there have been some very funny ones, even if I do manage to forget the punch lines!


alongside a great team, who have responded to the challenges presented to them with good humour. There have been times of much hilarity and others of great sadness, but they all add up to the rather wonderful life working at the NeuroMuscular Centre.


On April 1st I shall enter the third age [retirement], when I shall be able to stay in bed until 8am – or later if I choose! Take up old and new hobbies, enjoy my freedom and get out and about with my husband, visiting the far corners of this island, probably in our caravan! If I’


m really lucky, we might even make it across the Channel!


I would like to say a big Thank You to everyone at the NMC, and especially those who come here for treatment. Over the last four years I have met some lovely people, and I feel privileged to have been part of the Physiotherapy Team providing advice and care. Finally, I would like to wish you all the very best for the future, and hopefully I might see some of you again around and about.

As the saying goes – Time flies when you are enjoying yourself and, of course, as we get older time flies even quicker! It seems no time at all since I left the frenetic life working in the NHS and was welcomed into the rather zany world of the NMC. On November 1st 2004 I joined “The Team”, and learnt that knowledge of football was essential, and it helped to have a sense of humour – especially when it came to Gordon’
