The shape of your face Circular or rounder

face shapes You need to have more height on top, but be careful not to scrape back too tight. Instead wear your hair looser to create a little volume above the ears.

Heart shaped faces

These work better with softness and volume at the bottom, either on the shoulders or at least collar length. Avoid creating height on top and and try to minimise any volume above the ears.

Oblong or longer face shapes You need to avoid a lot of height on top, curls

work great, especially if you can create a little volume through the sides.

Angular or square

face shapes You need as much softness as possible. If you want to wear hair up, leave soft pieces to hang down around the jaw line. Go for gentle waves and texture. Avoid any horizontal lines such as fringes, instead go for side sweeping, asymmetric fringes.

Triangular face shapes or

slightly heavy jawlines You need to have hair left down at shoulder length or loosely put up to create volume above the ears only. Again avoid scraped back styles, high and narrow shapes or horizontal fringes.

Diamond face shapes You need to avoid being scraped back, or

creating high volume. Keep any shapes narrow at the cheekbones and wider above the ears. Styles work well if pieces are allowed to fall around the jawline and collar.

Oval, face shapes You are able to wear just about any length

shape or style.

Make sure you ask your hairdresser for at least one trial before to check timings and take some pictures to check the final look. Finally, remember try to invest as much as you can in your hair, after all it’s the gown you never take off!
