“Thumbs up to the St. Francis of Assisi School community for coming together to keep our wonderful school open for this year and beyond. Congratulations and thanks to all who had a role in making it happen.”

Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”

instead of making a busload of 5 and 6-year-old children wait in the heat, I shudder to think what your thought process would be in an emergency.”

“Thumbs up to Benson Park! It looks beautiful. Keep up the good work!”

“Thumbs up to the Hudson Police for having almost all of their police cruisers on 3A for speed traps, hope you’re pulling in millions in revenue. Of course the rest of the town in unprotected and at risk from unscrupulous people. Rather then raising revenue through speed traps, has Hudson truly looked at cutting costs? Probably not – but lets hope the bad guys aren’t on 3A counting police cruisers.”

“Thumbs down to the school district for

allowing the bus company to deliver the pm kindergartners on the K2 route over an hour late three days in a row before electing to do something. If it were your children out there you would have done something to prevent this from happening a second time...never-mind a third.”

“Thumbs down to the Hudson’s schools for

wasting resources. Combined, my children had over 237 pages of paper with useless information on it from the first day of school. That is our tax money and our natural resources being wasted. Also, contracts and handbooks should only be given out once, put it on-line or only give it to new kids. Do we really need all this silly waste every year? And if the kids use the computers inappropriately during computer class the blame is on the teacher’s inability to monitor the class.”

“Thumbs up to the Garden Sledders! You guys and Sage continue to be creative. I love it. Mrs. Ames”

“Thumbs down to drivers not

paying attention to the school buses. Flashing lights and a stop sign mean STOP. For the second time in only two days cars have sped past while my daughter was getting ready to cross the street. Pay attention and stop before you run over someone’s kid!”

“Thumbs up to the Hudson

Litchfield News its so courteous of you to send your free toilet paper to my residence every Friday, it’s nice to see in these tough times that you guys would help the community out like that!!”

“Thumbs down to the Alvirne Fall Sports Preview for excluding the Alvirne Boy’s Cross Country Team! Though we are not as ‘mainstream’ as other sports, we too have out seasonal goals, rivalries, setbacks and accomplishments, victories and defeats, and are out there working just as hard, if not harder than the next team. Although we are not a big sport that draws big crowds, how about at least some acknowledgement for our efforts!”

is he allowed to get away with so many trust issues? It is time the BOS take action and remove him now! And speaking of trust issues, where are all the supplies the LFC bought for the storm emergency? Were they returned to the store or are they being stored at the Chief’s house? I suppose all that plywood he bought and didn’t need for the storm will be stored at the fire station or returned.”

into my car at Alvirne. Then lied to the Insurance company about the accident!! You know you were in the wrong!!! Stand up and be responsible for your actions. You wrecked my car. Be an adult and take responsibility for the damages you caused!!”

“Thumbs up. Remember when during the weekends, it was a treat to go into Boston to see the sights? I have such fond memories of going to Faneuil Hall, the Theatre, Chinatown, or a walk through Harvard Yard. Now, however, with the increasing atrocities by illegal aliens and the refusal of Massachusetts Government’s to enforce existing law, Boston and all Massachusetts is a dangerous place. ‘Thumbs down’ to Massachusetts politicians for making the state dangerous!”

“Thumbs down to the NWES pm kindergarten

bus driver for picking up the children 45 minutes after class started then driving to Ayotte’s liquor store at the south end of town and waiting in the parking lot for another hour because the dispatcher was at lunch and you were lost. The children arrived after 2pm for classes that start at 12:30. If you don’t have enough sense to pick up your phone and call the school for directions

Sullivan for your letter to the editor. What kind of resolution do you want to see, a telephone every 5 feet? Let’s be realistic. There are a variety of trails at Bensons, stick to the ones at your level. We have a beautiful park let’s enjoy it instead of complaining about it...”

Litchfield. Last week I was driving with my fiancée when she received the worst phone call in her life. He mother had died in a car crash. While my fiancée began to cry hysterically we decided to pull over on Albuquerque where the tennis court is. JB drove by and turned around because he felt it necessary to knock on my window and say, ‘move, Litchfield parks close at dawn.’ Not wanting

to cause confrontation I said yes sir, in just a minute. He proceeded to threaten to call the cops. I understand you think you are ‘big’ when it comes to town sports/parks & recreation, but you need some sensitivity and to start realizing that not everyone needs to bow down to you, because you donate some of your free time to the town

to LFC for gossiping about private information he learns about on calls! The BOS should be notified about this and action taken. This is not acceptable! Why doesn’t he lose his job? Why

“Thumbs down!! To the Hudson Police Department for endangering residents lives by not enforcing underage drinking and driving laws, on Wyeth Drive!! This is a complete failure of our towns Selectman’s leadership, and proves that the Hudson Police only enforce state and local laws when convenient. Shame on you, our Hudson Selectman, Police Chief and the underage High School Parents for allowing and promoting the corruption of our young students. I ask that the Leadership of this town to step up and lead by example by creating a zero tolerance policy

for sports. PS you were once one of my coaches and I have a lot of respect for you, but please stop acting as though everyone else is so much less important.”

“Thumbs down to the person who feels sports teams should be picked based on employment status (or volunteer position) and thinks misleading families in the HLN is right. The fact is the 12 best players made the team, picked by a group of people. And if you want more facts, Tony’s teams have won four state championships and have gone to New England Regionals three of the past four years. It’s safe to say he recognizes talent in softball players. Oh, and his teams have won over 130 games in 5 years (at least since I’ve known him). Those are the facts.”

“Thumbs down to the person complaining about dog waste on the Litchfield biking/walking path. I walked over 5 miles of it over the weekend and saw no dog waste on the path and only a few in the dead leaves on the side of the path. I was surprised, I thought there would be more, I did see a lot more cans, bottles and trash on the side, so call it like it is, you just don’t like dogs.’

for underage drinking!! These drunk underage teenagers are so loud that I can hear them on Winnhaven Drive and I have neighbors that were woken up on Radcliffe Drive as well. This drinking must end before the drunk drivers kill themselves or an innocent bystander!!”

“Thumbs up to the lovely couple who had their marriage proposal at the 9/11 memorial last weekend! It’s good to see something so beautiful and kind happen at a monument that represented something so horrific. Most of us will never forget how 9/11 changed our lives, and how lucky we our, to have lived.”

“Thumbs up! If you have the ability to think and write those things in a public newspaper, just hope that you are not my friend and I’m so glad I don’t have to sit on the bleachers with you all summer long.”
