SOCO is a not for profit organisation that help hard to reach young people from diverse backgrounds. Through music, media and connection they make a real difference in their young lives.
And as I am sure you are aware at the moment they really need it.
I started working closely with a group of 30 young people a few months back and noticed how very, very lost some of them are.
In all honesty I was then shocked and appalled by how the system and organisation I joined was letting them down, and letting them down BIG time. I know they have bad press at the moment but given a chance, and having their needs met, I reckon most of them could change.
So I joined with SOCO to help create a real positive, lasting impact in our world and these troubled times. SOCO have planned a music festival on the 10th September 2011. Based in Southampton, for young people, by young people.
It’s going to be a really positive day within a local community. We plan to record the journey and share it with the world.
