Product Reviews By Heather McGee-Parkin
4. SCHOOL BAGS
EcoBodyWear has some wonderful hemp bags including their Hemp School Cinch Backpack. Another alternative is recycled rubber. For something really different try Voltaic’s funky solar-powered backpack.
Turning the mundane into fun, these products are but a few from the pickings out there and may hopefully inspire you to find even more innovative and cost effective alternates that are kind both to our children and our planet.
3. RECYCLED LUNCH BAGS
A perfect alternative to sandwich bags and cling film has to be the Wrap-n-Mat. This fabric food wrap opens up flat to serve beautifully as a placemat and has a great range of prints to choose from. The lining is food safe, free of lead, phthalates, Bpa and PVC and porous free so food particles won’t get trapped in the fabric. It can be wiped down, or washed after each use. Perfect for work, school lunches, and picnics, super convenient and eminently sustainable.
