• Next, imagine that your spinal cord is encompassed in a column of light, with liquid light flowing up from the base of your spine to your crown chakra at the top of your head and then down again. Allow this flow to continue for the duration of a few breaths. When you are ready, focus on this column of light, directing it upward and out through your crown as you exhale. Visualize the column moving upwards through the dark sky until it approaches the stars, at which point it splinters into a thousand filaments of light, each one connecting individually with a star. See and feel the magnificence of this phenomenon as the light in the heavens explodes with brilliance.
• Now, with a strong inhale, visualize all of those charged filaments coming back from the stars, forming back into a column of light, entering your crown chakra and flowing down your spine into your belly. Gently expand your beautiful belly as it fills with light.
• Then come back to your breath awareness, breathing comfortably, the light still infusing your belly, and begin a breathing cycle as follows:
• Breathe gently into your belly. • Feel your ribs expand outwards as your breath travels upwards.
• Bring your breath up into your chest and feel this entire cavity flood with light.
• As you exhale comfortably, allow the light to remain in your chest and belly.
•
Also allow a moment’s pause after your exhalation in that place of the “no breath.”
• Then begin this cycle again, and repeat it four more times
If you desire, you can extend this visualization as follows:
• Your core body is now filled with light and your spinal column is vibrating. Take a moment to remember where you are in nature and regain your sensory awareness of being there, smiling as you do. Are you still belly breathing? When you are ready, focus on your light column and with your next exhalation direct it downward from the base of your spine into the earth—through the soil, through the layers of rock and crystals, downward until it reaches the centre of the earth, which is the womb of our Mother Gaia. This is the place of swirling liquid magma, the complete darkness where all life begins. Infuse your light into this flowing liquid rock, allowing it to ooze into crevices and crannies, going wherever it wants to go. As it does, watch the beautiful patterns of light and dark as they intermingle. Remain in this awareness for a few breaths.

• When you are ready, with an inhalation, bring the light- infused darkness back up through the earth and into your body, feeling your belly expand with this deep nourishment of earth energy. Realize that you are the centre of your own universe, where heaven and earth meet. Rest in the knowing that there is a great reserve of light and dark energy—the yin-yang energy of well-being—always available to you. There is plenty of everything you need and want.
• Breathe into the light and dark of this plenty. There is plenty of love, food, money, joy and air in this world. Our task is to allow it in. To slow down. Create space and openings. Acknowledge abundance. Breathe into this truth of plenty and experience your well-being rise to the surface and overflow into abundance.
• For a few more breaths, cultivate the pauses after the exhalations. Allow space for your inner voice to be heard. Relax your body and mind, and rediscover trust in your inner knowing and in the world around you. The sun rises and sets every day. The moon waxes and wanes. The waters flow and recede. Leaves fall and new buds appear. Light and dark are the twins of all movement. There is plenitude in their interplay.
